I found that while conventional shavers have blades cut at 45 to 90 degree angles, this shaver has blades cut at a slim 30 degrees, the sharpest made in the industry. A sharper blade gives better precision and cutting performance overall.  

It has a powerful and super fast (13,000 RPM's) Linear motor. This means it can plow through the toughest and thickest of beards and facial hair effortlessly and without pulling or irritation.  It is actually one of the fastest razors out there.

The pivoting head is another nice feature. It follows the contours of your face by being able to rock back and forth, and up and down. This allows you to navigate over the contours of your face without irritating nicks and cuts. You maintain control over your razor and get a clean, close shave in the process.

The Panasonic ES8249S is self cleaning too. When you're done shaving, the system itself automatically rinses out the blades and then also dries it. This saves you the extra step of cleaning off your razor. You just pop it back into its stand and forget it. The next morning, you have a dry, sanitized razor waiting for you.
