Exfoliation – An Essential Part Of The Skin Care Ritual

Exfoliation forms an essential part of your skin care regimen. It helps to remove dead skin cells to reveal fresh new healthy cells underneath. Types of Exfoliants

Physical Exfoliation

Exfoliants for Different Skin Types

Dry Skin

Oily Skin
Use exfoliants with BHAs because it exfoliates the skin’s surface as well as the insides of the skin pores. Also, you can incorporate a gentle physical exfoliant in your regimen.

Acne-prone Skin
Exfoliation is particularly important for people whose skin is extremely prone to acne because acne prone skin types typically generate more dead skin cells than normal. Exfoliation removes the dirt and debris from within the pores and prevents them from clogging. Physical exfoliants can aggravate acne; therefore, opt for BHA based products that are gentle enough for daily use.

Normal & Combination Skin
Try a BHA and a mild physical exfoliant. Normal skin types also benefit from at-home microdermabrasion treatments.

Sensitive Skin
People with sensitive skin should avoid using exfoliating products with a high concentration of glycolic acid. You should test the product first to make sure it doesn't cause irritation on the skin.
