With the primary goal of the course to prepare and qualify graduates to take the Oregon State Board of Barber and Hairdressers written exam, the hair design program entails in-depth training in shampooing, rinsing and conditioning; trichology, chemistry, and electricity; hair design, shaping and coloring; permanent weaving, perming and relaxing; and braiding, among other associated academics.
Much like other top-notch hair design schools, the 1,100-hour barbering program at Phagan's School of Hair Design provides fundamental training in shampooing, rinsing, conditioning and hair design, but also entails hands-on training thermal styling, hair shaping, barbering, and body and facial structure.
If you're into skin care, then the 250-hour esthetics program at Phagan's School of Hair Design offers diverse training and education in how to administer facials/treatments, make-up, and microderm abrasion. In addition, students are given instruction in dermatology, temporary hair removal, lash and brow tinting, artificial lash application and body wrapping. Associated courses include anatomy, chemistry and electricity, and others.
Fancy nail art? Phagan's School of Hair Design also extends a 350-hour nail technology program where students learn how to administer manicures and pedicures, and how to apply artificial nails. Additional coursework is comprised of anatomy, chemistry, ungiology, electricity, and more.
