After windows update mails get deleted (Post Update Effect)

Windows Update is a special service provided by Microsoft in order to provide important changes done inside operating system to the general user. By this service MS Window users can ensure that they have a copy of operating system which is in sync with Microsoft OS inside Redmond. Windows update is varied from OS to OS and can be depend upon particular product of Microsoft or other installed on the target system. Usually this service
Automatic windows Update ON by-default but user or administrator can switch it OFF because of many reasons. In case it is OFF then there is only one way to update windows which is offline update.
Offline windows update is alternative but very important method to update window as it takes less time to download update once and install it everywhere but this technique is especially helpful when target system is not connected to internet.
Now real problem appear is that if the storage media on which update files are kept get infected by viruses. In such cases when a user is trying to update windows it will also infect the operating system this has a very catastrophic effect and mail clients (such as Outlook Express or MS Outlook etc.) are the sweet spot and also main target for virus creators. Once invoked virus start showing its disastrous effect as mail programs starts crashing showing infamous "Send - Don't Send" dialog. Mails get deleted abruptly and not even displayed in "Deleted Folder" of mail clients.
Outlook Express gets seriously affected from this attack and consequences can be as bad as loss of all mails or corruption of DBX file.
The remedy of this situation is to immediately use a proper antivirus with updated definitions.
•Do not use your Mail Client further until virus is removed.
•Boot your system through a bootable LIVE-CD like Windows-PE, Knoppix and copy DBX and important files to a USB drive. Remember do not execute any executable while working with Live CD, it will not going to harm OS of live CD but it further might start infecting other files resides on infected HDD.
•Get an effective DBX repair or recovery tool in hand so that you can get your data as early as possible.
Use windows Update carefully as catastrophe can occur as mentioned earlier. Scan your update files before installing with a good anti-virus.
