Eliminate Unwanted Hair by Reading the Epilator Reviews
Introduction
Hi there, I have been recently introduced to Epilators and have I decided to write and let you know all about them and give you my Epiliator Reviews, but first let me clear something up. Personally being a male I don't use an Epilator, however my wife does hence my introduction to them and I was intrigued.
So you may be asking yourself why you should listen to me and what do I know about Epilators, well after my wife explained what they do and how good they are (and I can say that they do a very good job indeed) I decided to buy one as a Christmas present for my sister.
At the outset of this decision I knew very little about Epilators so had to research them myself, with a little help I was soon clued up and was able to make a very informed decision.
My research initially involved perusing department store catalogues, making notes and comparing features. I then progressed to online research and again kept notes of features and compared one model against another. But I really didn't want to get this purchase wrong!
I know how it feels when I make an investment in a new gadget only to be disappointed, I couldn't make this mistake so I got help, wall actually I got an enormous amount of help!
I collected huge amounts of actual customer feedback on the various Epilator makes and models, this for me was the real help I needed and I am now very confident that, at the time of writing this, my sister will be over the moon with her present.
Now onto the purpose of this article, after all the research I collated I didn't want it to go to waste so I've provided all my research findings below to help you make a better informed purchase decision.
Epilator Designs – Firstly there are two epilator design types, the rotating disc and the tweezer.
The tweezer design is a modern take on the original rotating disc design and instead of complete metal discs the design incorporates a series of metal plates, as the head rotates, the tips of the plates move together and apart once per revolution which creates a tweezing effect.
An example of the rotating disc design is the Epilady and the Braun Silk-epil (many models) is an example of the tweezer design.
Cordless and Rechargeable Epilators – A cordless epilator obviously provides greater flexibility with this type being of greater use to people who don't have a convenient electrical point. Cordless epilators generally hold enough charge for at least a 30 minute burst and loose little charge over time so great for holidays.
Perceived Pain – you have to be mindful to expect some pain when removing hair using this method, quite often this will depend on your skins sensitivity and affects people in different ways.
If you are one of the many people that suffer in this way a more expensive epilator may help you, I'm not suggesting that the most expensive epilator is the best and won't cause any pain but generally these models will come with more gadget like options, for instance changeable cap heads and speed control, both of which can be a huge help.
Another way to deal with the pain is by using my ‘epilator tip' - prepare the epilation areas with oils, shower gel or pre-epilation wipes, all of these methods and many more will help ease or get rid of any pain you may suffer and will make your skin unbelievably smooth, reduce any post-epilation stinging, redness and red spots from where the hair has been removed
Wet and Dry Epilators – Personally my favourite from all the customer reviews I gathered!
These epilators have been designed for completely safe epilation in water being kinder to your skin and can be used both in bath or shower. This feature is fabulous because warm water opens your pores allowing the hairs to be removed easier and far less painful.
Smart lights – Through my customer research I found out that some epilators come with ‘smart lights', which are basically a spot light which shines on the area you are epilating and apparently is a great help and liked enormously.
Costs – The cost of an epilator can vary quite significantly from £25 to £140 (although I did research one model, the Philips Lumea SC2001 at £384!), this may seem expensive but is definitely an investment that will pay back many times over. I'm sure for many ladies the idea of going to a salon for a massage and treatments is a great luxury and very ‘enjoyable', the pampering sude anyway, however this will not always be convenient, not to mention the cost of one treatment and the fact that the silky smooth effects of waxing don't last as long as epilation.
The epilator is a great substitute, they are more expensive that other methods but through my research I found they give great results, additionally there is no need to replace parts so no ongoing costs.
Summary and Conclusion – Epilators reach hairs that waxing can't and are suitable for legs, underarms and bikini lines, some also mention epilating the face but personally I can't advocate this fact, but once you invest in one of these there will be no more in between days and if you are into tanning this will also help keep your tan for longer.
If using an epilator for the first time consider one with a beginner cap, these partly cover the epilating discs and will provide a more relaxed experience for first time use and with careful research you will find an epilator that suits you, Online real consumer epilator reviews are a great place to start.
My initial findings showed that women significantly favoured wet epilation, with the Braun Silk epil range being the most popular along with high-frequency massage systems, these relax the skin before and after hair removal and produce the least painful results. However after digging deeper another much applauded model is the Philips HP6517 Satinelle Ice Rechargeable Epilator, not one negative epilator review from the 100 or so I researched.
